Tottori: Kannon-in Temple & Garden

October 21, 2017

After I visited the Jinpukaku mansion, my next destination will be Kannon-in temple before checking-in in Drop Inn Tottori. Kannon-in temple is a temple of the Tendai Sect of Japanese Buddhism. It was constructed by the ruling Ikeda clan during the Edo period. The landscape pond garden inside is what makes this place a great place to visit when in Tottori. It was so scenic and serene. That time, it was so quiet that you can only hear the raindrops pouring in the pond. I was also alone that time. Every visitor will be served a green tea and sweets as they enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the place. I guess, the place will be great during autumn as the maple trees around the garden turn into red in color.

From Tottori station, take the Kururi bus Red course and get off at Uemachi (#11 stop) then a 3-minute walk from the bus stop.

Open Hours:

Everyday from 9:00 to 17:00

Admission Fees:

500JPY inclusive of the green tea service
